TO HOST FIRST MEMBERSHIP FUNDRAISER JANUARY 24, 2007


 
The Palm Springs Historical Society is holding its very first fundraising dinner on Wednesday, January 24 at the historic Smoke Tree Ranch. This special event, the first in its 50 plus years, is open to members only but new members who wish to join will be welcomed to attend. This is also a rare opportunity for the public to visit the famed Smoke Tree Ranch which is a private enclave with rich historical roots and has been home to numerous luminaries including Walt Disney.


The event will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner in the Ranch House Dining Room at 7:00 p.m. Attire and theme for the dinner is dressy Western.


Reservations are required. Cost is $125 per person. For tickets and information regarding membership in the Palm Springs Historical Society, please call 760 323-8297.

The new Palm Springs Historical Society's 2007 calendar is HERE! For the first time ever in full color, this year's calendar features Stephen H. Willard hand tinted vintage postcards of Palm Springs colorful sights, from Smoke Trees and Verbenas to The Oasis Hotel. Calendars will be for sale at the Palm Springs Historical Society's McCallum Adobe Museum located at 221 S. Palm Canyon Dr. beginning Friday, October 20 or  by calling (760) 323-8297 or e-mailing PalmSpgsHistory@aol.com The price is $6.00 each or two for $10.00.
 
Pioneer Picnic
 
Join us for a HOE DOWN! The Palm Springs Historical Society presents its 51st annual Pioneer Picnic on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at High Noon. It will be held at the historic O'Donnell Golf Club at 301 N. Belardo Rd. Cost is $25.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under 12. Historical Society members may make advance reservations through October 31st by calling 323-8297 or e-mailing PalmSpgsHistory@aol.com. Reservations will be open to the public after October 31. A buffet lunch will be served with fried chicken and all the fixins' and there will be a no-host bar. Be transported from the parking lot (parking will be available at the Palm Springs Art Museum) in an 18-seat hay wagon, and stomp your feet to the music of The Range Riders. Stay for our popular annual raffle with fabulous prizes! Our annual PS Historical Society Calendar will also be for sale at $6.00 each or two for $10.00. This year's calendar features the hand-tinted postcards of Stephen Willard. Y'all come!
